One of the cornerstones of Waldorf education is that the content and methodology of education should be developmentally appropriate. It starts with the acknowledgement that children are evolving human beings and are not just miniature versions of adults. They are developing physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Their consciousness and soul are evolving as much as their bodies are. From the Kindergarten through the grades, therefore, subjects, topics and the ways of taking them to children evolve with the evolution of the children themselves. Creating a deep engagement of the children with the content and process of learning is one of the prime goals of curriculum design.
